Kayak Fly-Fishing Charters |

THE ONLY THING ARTIFICIAL HERE IS THE BAIT !

Kayak Fishing and Fly Fishing are a perfect way to fish the flats. It's also a lot easier than you think. There is also the aesthetic element involved with both of these growing sports. Whether you want to pull some snook from the mangroves, stalk tailing redfish on a gin clear flat or watch sea trout blow up on a popper on a calm, early morning, all of our trips and locations will fit the bill.
From beginner to advanced. We have the expertise to help with your casting, presentation and put you onto the fish . You will come away armed with more knowledge on how to not only flyfish from a kayak, but also how to find your quarry, what flies to use and most importantly; how to deliver and present the fly.
It is OK if you bring your own equipment, or you can use some of our premium Fly-Fishing equipment from Temple Fork Outfitter Fly rods, Ross Reels and premium Royal Wulff fly line. This will be discussed on initial contact where we will assess your equipment and casting ability. Custom tied flies are also supplied at no extra charge for every angling situation for many species of fish from salt to freshwater. |

We utilize and supply you with the best equipment available, this includes the paddle craft you will be using during your trip. The Native Ultimate 12 and Ultimate 14.5 solo and tandem is the best of the best. It is a very easy paddling, stable enough to stand and cast from and the most comfortable fishing kayak on the market bar none.
The Ultimate was designed by a fly angler for fly anglers. I have fished from every major brand on the market and have found none of those even come close to what the Ultimate offers. It really is no wonder why Legacy Paddle Sports chose to name this kayak the Ultimate, it truly is one! Come on down and try one for yourself, as a fly angler, I am fairly certain you will want one of your own at the end of your trip! |

Your kayak and fly fishing rigs will be set up ready and waiting for you once you arrive at the launch. After the meet and greet, I will brief you on what you can expect on your trip, ask questions about your paddling and fly casting skills, give you a brief on paddling and handling your paddle craft that you will be using during your trip and prepping you for launch.
My trips are fairly simple with no real long distance to cover, often we are into fish within 15 to 20 minutes of leaving the launch. I have taken into consideration before hand to add a little extra time for us to stop along the way before we get to the first spot so I can assess your casting skills. If there are any corrections to be made, it is best we do this before where are right next to the fish. If you are going to be here a few days and you feel a little rusty, I recommend our on the water casting lesson to get you ready for when your knees will be knocking and heart racing while watching the Redfish tail in front of you, Tarpon rolling seemingly out of reach or Snook crashing Glass Minnows near a dock light. During the day, we will go over fish catching and handling technique, flies to use when and where and much more! You may expect us to give 100% effort towards you trip and enjoyment, I hope you can settle for 120%. Want to see more? Click the banner below and see what we can do for you! |

I operate out of Grande Tours in Placida Florida. We are located just North of Boca Grande and are about 45 minutes from Sarasota. Most of my trips are out into Gasparilla Sound in the beautiful and wild Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve which is home to some of the best Redfish, Snook and Tarpon fishing. If you are staying in South West Florida I have locations from Lemon Bay to Pine Island and river adventures on the Peace and Myakka River.
Need a place to stay? We have lodging on site available in our cozy cabins. I can also help set you up with nearby hotels and inns. There are restaurants and other great places to eat nearby. If you do the Placida Package, I do all the cooking for you.
I also do trips up to the Tampa Bay area on special request (fly-fishing only). This area is my old stomping grounds and I still travel and fish it often.
Check our links section for a list of hotels, resorts and inns.

Hat, Sunscreen and a good pair of polarized glasses.
Water and snacks.
Florida Fishing License.
Comfortable clothes appropriate for the weather conditions.
Shoes like flats boots or sandals that you can wade in comfortably.
If you wish, you can bring your favorite 8 or 9 weight. *SEE NOTE*
Reels must be spooled with a good weight forward floating line.
You can bring your fly box but keep in mind I supply what works and what you do not have.
Bring your camera if your wish but I will take pictures of you with your fish and e-mail them to you that evening.
A willingness to learn, have a great time and catch some fish!
*Note* For those that wish to bring their own outfits.
Keep in mind the time I have given you to meet me at the launch. The time given takes into consideration the pre trip briefing and time to paddle to the first spot of the day. This time frame also is for your benefit, getting you out on the water, to the spot and onto the fish in a timely manner during our window of opportunity during the forecast optimal conditions to catch fish.
If you show up and your rod/rods are not threaded, leaders and flies not tied on, then this will take away valuable time that could be otherwise used paddling to the spot and catching the most fish. If you must use your own equipment, please try to have as much set up and ready to go before we meet at the launch or show up at least 20 minutes early so we can get everything set up in a non-hurried manner. This will go a long way to ensure that you have the best, stress free trip possible.

 | Eight hours of on the water excitment! The full day is a good idea during the new and full moon phases and days that you wish to fish for Tarpon. | The half day trip is 4 hours, but keep in mind, I am not a clock watcher. A half day trip is good when you are on a tight schedule or on days when a full day would not be advantageous in terms of fish catching due to a smaller window of opportunity. This trip is best during tides on days other than the full and new moon phases.

David Loger started his fishing and fly angling passion up in the North Eastern regions of New England. He has started with the salmoniod species and became a "Certified Trout Bum" and spent many spring and fall mornings and nights along the beaches for Stripers and Blues making him a "Certified Striper Bum".
After having had enough of the cold weather, shoveling snow and the fishing season way to short to his liking, he packed up his car and headed South to Florida to pursue an airline career, enjoy the warm sunshine and the wonderful fishing that can be had almost 300 days a year!
The airline industry soon went bust after 911 so he readjusted his sights and started Adventure Kayak Fishing Inc. which is now going onto its seventh year. The business grew and he soon hired Neil Taylor to take over for him in the Tampa Bay area. Neil handles all clients that want to use the egg beaters, since this year Dave only takes fly-fishing clients. While out on the water alone he only has a few fly rods and a box of flies with him and he prefers to keep it that way.
Dave has also fished in many local and national fishing tournaments taking a few titles and placing many times. He has since retired from tournament fishing and focuses on the business full time to ensure clients get full attention and quality during their trip on which they are spending their hard earned money on. 120% is all you will get.
Dave is also a writer for a few national and local publications and in the process of writing two inshore fly fishing books geared toward the paddling fly angler.
Other interests are flying/aviation, trap and skeet shooting, rifle and hand gun marksmanship, mountain biking and the occasional cooking of the days catch on the barbie.
He resides in South West Florida in a cabin, down by the river.
